1-SINT/ELE-PRO
The code 1-SINT/ELE-PRO identifies the dedicated electronic device of the MTS3000 system and the RSM software that allows the entire measurement process to be completely automatic.
The electronic device of the MTS3000-Restan system guarantees to control automatically the mechanical body of the system and the drilling tool selected by the user. On the rear side of the electronic device there are different connection options: particularly, it ensures the connection with the mechanical body of the system using the 15 poles D-Sub male cable and with the zero setting cable (alligator clip) for the zero-depth determination (zero setting). The electronic device obviously allows to connect all the supported drilling devices: in particular it guarantees the connection of the input and output compressed air line (6mm pipes), the connection of the different electric motor drilling devices (using the 5 pole Bulgin 900 – Series Buccaneer PX connector) and finally the orbital drilling device.
The electronic device can work with different supply voltage from 90 to 264 VAC (from 50 to 60 Hz). The electronic device ensures the connection of the measurement chain with the PC where the control software (called RSM) is installed. It can be connected with the PC using a USB – Serial connection (cables and adapters are included).
The main features of the electronic device are:
- Stepping motor control unit and PC interface system for the automatic control of the process using the RSM software,
- Automatic control of the compressed air operation,
- Automatic control of the electric drilling process (both electric motor and orbital device),
- Capability of performing the determination of the starting point (Zero Setting),
- Full automatic control of the orbital drilling process by the RSM software,
- Automatic acquisition of the strains (step-by-step or continuously)
The software RSM allows performing all the steps of the measurement process in an automatic condition. In particular, the BASIC version of the RSM software has the following features:
- Compliant with any drilling devices (air turbine & electric motor)
- Determination of the zero-depth point (Zero Setting)
- Configuration of the total number of steps and their distribution
- Setting of the total depth of the test
- Automatic control of the test
- Customization of the delay times
- Setting of the drilling parameters (advancing and drilling speed)
- Selection of a large variety of strain gage rosette
- Continue strategy for the acquired data
- Compliant with the last strain gage amplifier
- Centering of the device using the digital microscope
- Determination of the total & remaining testing time
- Bigger internal database of the material properties
- Automatic detection of the calibration parameters
- Optional raising of the endmill at the end of each step
- Acquisition of a dummy gage for thermal compensation
- Acquired strain correction (thermal strain)
- Acquisition of thermocouple sensor
- Acquisition of a LVDT sensor
- Calculation of the diameter and eccentricity of the drilled hole
- Determination of the eccentricity components in any direction
